The video clips are just being used to show a scale from good to bad for a vocal technique called resonance. I wouldn’t rank Sun or any of the performers just based on this video. There are other skills that a singer needs as well.

Yeah I know. but for this vocal technique in particular, Sunye was able to do better than many people! Usually she’s ignored in singer lists etc. it’s just nice to see her mentionned :3

So, basically, you’re saying, it’s fine for the male fathers in Korea to keep promoting with their group, but not for Sunye? What about Tasha/Yoon Mi Rae and Tiger JK, huh? They’re married and have a son.
Mana, I know you are welcome to your opinion, but to accuse JYP of LYING is a huge deal. I seriously doubt he’s lying, and that Sunye has every intention of one day coming back. Groups don’t have to be promoting a hundred percent of the time to still be a group. If I’m not mistaken Shinwha is like that now. They don’t always promote together, because they all have their own careers, but they do come together to create music and things. And, if I’m not mistaken, most of those boys are married now, right?
You’re talking as if a women getting married is the end of her career in the entertainment business. When, that is clearly not the case. Not just in America. Just because Sunye is the first of this generation of Idols to get married and have a baby, doesn’t mean the Wonder Girls are over and that Sunye is done with her career in Korea. Or that JYP is lying. If it does turn out she doesn’t come back, it won’t mean that JYP was ever lying to us. Because, they most likely truly believe that the Wonder Girls aren’t over.
AND LISTEN HERE: If JYP AND Wonder Girls say they have not disbanded, then they have NOT disbanded. No one else gets to claim they have, when THEY are the ones who make those decisions.
I’m not jumping on you, and trying to cause an argument, I’m just saying, ever since she announced her marriage, you’ve been looking at this as the end, when, really, it’s more of a beginning. And, I have a feeling, that the US advancement was doomed before Sunye announced her marriage, because the JYP branch in the US liquidated, which had nothing to do with Sunye’s marriage. It most likely had to do with bad investments or they couldn’t find a distributor.
But..yeah..maybe this is all my opinion. Maybe I’m just optimistic, and choose to look at the positive, and not try and put a negative tone on every news item I get…

Sorry Linda but you’re totally wrong, you’re comparing Sunye to some solo singers, please? not trying to say Sunye is lower than them but Sunye and WG are idols, not artists. Some people here seem to get it wrong. there’s a difference between Tasha and Sunye and we all know it. Tasha is an artist, she can have kids, still go on stage and rap/sing, it’s totally normal. now tell me, do you think Sunye, after having kids and a busy life in CANADA, will comeback to Korea and start doing idol promotions?? = going to variety, promote on 4-5 programs a week, dance??? be realistic. Being a mom is not the end of everything but it’s the end of your idol life, and WG being idols, means Sunye is not coming back to WG. and JYP did lie enough times for me to think like this lol remember the US album? this was totally a lie. Did JYP make any announcement in 2012 about it? no. he didn’t even make an official announcement ”we couldn’t make the US album and stopped all projects in US” because for him, this is bad for his image. what about Wonderfuls who wait so long? don’t be so naive with companies, JYP is a nice man but he can lie like all companies do. now he suddenly send messages to tell fans that they’ll get a refund for the pre-orders of US albums, which confirms that WG is done with US, why not announcing? btw, male groups and female groups are a different thing, besides Shinhwa is like the exception to all idol groups, just saying, don’t expect WG to be like this. not to bash WG but they don’t have a bond as strong as Shinhwa, these boys stay the same until the end, WG already had 2 members change and now one of them getting married and leaving for Canada. again I’m not bashing but I’m sure you can tell the difference between Shinhwa and WG if you’re not too naive.
Anyway, my conclusion is that JYP can lie and lied already, besides you can say the same for GOD, never announced their disbandment officially but are they together? no. Please don’t tell me you expect Sunye to comeback, even in 3 years, she’ll have a 2 years old baby, maybe get pregnant again (God knows) and other things, she’s doing her own life and to me it’s so clear she has absolutely no interest as idol anymore. Sure she didn’t say it herself but isn’t it obvious? She doesn’t even speak about this anymore, only JYP is making announcement by himself. this sounds more like a way to protect the other 4 girls than anything. because if JYP announce disbandment, Kwonderfuls might get so mad and leave the other girls too (remember their reactions when Sunye announce the wedding, I can tell some of them already switched to other groups and don’t even care for the 4 remaining girls).
That’s all… and again you’ll say I sound pessimistic or I’m not a real fan or whatever, I’m just being realistic and wish the best for Sunye’s life and just want the other girls to be happy, that’s all. JYP needs to tell the truth, don’t let us realize it in 5 years that WG is not coming back. and you know what, I’m so sure they won’t comeback. this happened with all past idol groups, and except for Shinhwa, none of the groups comeback indeed.

The US Album was not the fault of Sunye, and there weren’t any lies made about it. It’s obvious that the plans fell through. The US company liquidated.

For all you know they will come back. For all you know, Sunye will come back to performing.
Maybe their comeback will be similar to that of Spice Girls, where it’s just a reunion, or like Play, where they don’t come back as the full group. Or, even, CJSH-The Grace, where two members came back.

Look, I’m sorry I called you rude. I wasn’t really awake yet when I wrote that, and I was writing it straight out emotion. You just really upset me. Because, with every post you’ve made, you made it seem like you know everything about this situation, and that no one else can even have a different view, or that no can believe that JYP is telling the truth, because you believe that he isn’t.

i so totally agree with you Linda i believe in Sunye’s and JYP decision, i know they all have a reason for everything..

Considering that Sunye still has family in South Korea, I don’t see any problems with babysitting while she promotes with the group next year. Knowing how well child-actors are treated by the staff members, who happen to be parents too, there’s nothing wrong with their child/children coming to work sometime. It won’t surprise me at all, should Sunye hire a nanny to watch their child/children while in the country. After all, either way, in Canada, or South Korea, the child/children has family in both countries, and technology is still able to keep all of them in touch though. So, I’m confident with her being a mother while continuing her career as a singer, she and James and the rest of the family are all making the necessary plans to raise the child/children as best as they can. ^_^

As for the U.S. promotions, they’ve done some, but ran into some financial difficulties recently. Right now, I believe solo activities will keep the group afloat for the time being, but won’t hinder Sunye to do some group activities every now and then, such as an online radio show. Given how well other artists are making their introductions into the U.S. Market, thanks to our Wonder Girls and other K-Pop artists, I think of it fair to ride in with them too, in return. ^_^

Now, as for this ”lying” thing, I think it’s being overly used and slightly misplaced. Sure J.Y.P. stated about making another go into the U.S. again with a full length English Album, but everybody must take into account of variables that could change that. I certainly don’t recall reading about a specific release date for the album, only that it’s ”estimated” around this year, but left room for the possibility of being pushed back. Granted things, such as accidents, lack of funding, and other mishaps can, and sometimes does happen, like all of the Secret members getting into an car accident, which pushed their original plans significantly back. This really should be called ”lying”. Lying is basically misleading with the intention to draw away from the truth. How could they be lying when changing circumstances happen? Are we to assume that J.Y.P. is psychic and knew that their full length English album was definitely going to be released this year? Or, did the right conditions and variables appear good enough to become confident that it was possible to release it this year? And just because many groups didn’t make a comeback like Shinhwa, doesn’t mean the Wonder Girls won’t, because it’s their decision, and those groups’ decisions not to come back, and Shinhwa’s decision to make it their comeback. As fans, we’ll always continue to support our girls, and always remind them that we’re still here. ^_^
