I was there also. The performance was really great. The WGs are really committed to giving you everything they have, even if they are a bit tired or getting roasted by the stage lighting. It was a small stage and the lighting was hot, hot as in over come the air conditioning in the front row hot.
The audio in the Pikeyenny video does not do the audience justice. There were less than 200 people, but at times when we were singing long, we drowned out the WGs.
I have not seen the WGs live and up close before. MVs and PVs doe not do them justice. So much energy and charisma pour out of them, that it is hard to take it all in. I found myself following Yubin, Yenny and forgetting to also watch the other members.
I love these girls, so glad they are making music and I am able to listen to them.Martin : 8 months, 2 weeks ago
Hi Guys, I’m finally home from the iHeartRadio concert. It took me quite a long time to get home, due to various unexpected problems with the mass transit in NYC.
Did anyone see me on the live stream? I was on the front row, left of center.
I was not expecting to get so close, but different random people who were in red were pulled from the waiting line to take a promo picture and then we were allowed to enter the theater first. So, by sheer luck my brother and I got to stand in the front row, right on the railing. During the evening, at one point or another, each of the WGs were right in front of me, not more than five or six feet away.I got to watch all the performances up close and personal. The fans who were there, knew all the words and sang with great enthusiasm. Obviously, the fans here were singing the English songs more accurately than when singing along in Korean.
I see some comments that the girls seems tired. I did not really see that at all, but obviously the WGs have been working hard. I would say the lighting was extremely hot. When I had a single light from the back shining on me, I could feel the heat. The WGs are much closer to the lighting and they have lighting from front and back beating up on them. I’m sure that this contributed to some physical distress. The stage and the theater was well air conditioned, but those lights were hot.
Th WGs performances was very powerful and I felt their singing was very good. If you have not seen the WGs up close (like from 10 feet and in) you have no idea how much power they generate. As they go through their dance routines, the stage is shaking from the steps and moves. If you have a notion that they are dainty dancers that barely touch the floor, I should abuse you of that notion now.
I have a hard time saying which song is my favorite, it changes from Nobody, Tell Me, Be My Baby, etc, etc… But tonight they sang 2 Different Tears and I can tell you that I’ve really missed it and I was really happy to hear it again. Someday, I would like to ask the WGs to sing 2DT remixed as a R&B ballad. I think that would be an awesome way to present 2DT.
Of the three new songs I think I like the first one called Ouch the best. The 2nd and 3rd songs Stay Together and Wake Up are also nice. For all three songs, I think they are still in process of polishing and refining they way they want to sing and present it. The Wake Up song is reminding me of a song from my younger days, circa late 1960s, not the words, but the tempo and beat. I wish I could recall it now. Eventually, I will.
During the evening, the WGs worked the crowed, making eye contact and throwing smiles to all the fans in the front and the back. They know how to extend their charisma from the stage to every corner of the theater. I personally got looks and smiles from all the members. I was especially happy with Yenny and Yubin. I got many, many bright smiles and glances from both of them..If I were a younger man, I would have lost my mind. This brain of mind is already pretty loosely tethered as it is.
As the end of the day, the girls shook hands with some of the fans in the front row. Yenny came right over to me and gave my hand a shake. Again, if I were a younger man, I would have lost my mind.
At the end of the show, we waited out by the stage exit. We saw them sign a very few autographs and then they sped away on in black SUVs. I do believe it was Jane that I saw sheparding them from the exit to the car and sort of waving off the fans to get the WGs into their vehicle. Kudos to Jane for a job done well and gracefully, and for not really p’ing off and fans.
One last thing. While we waiting on line to get in, and OhKpop guy came by and interviewed us. My brother and I spent nearly 10 minutes being filmed live and chatting up the interviewer. I’ll have to check out the web site later to see if I have gained my five seconds of fame!!!
It’s late now, so good night. Just wanted to share some of my experiences with all the rest of you.
If you any questions, please feel free to ask! Good night now
LOLS, this is very long and I need time to read it now.

I assume you will never wash that hand again,am i right????
Alfonso… Of course I have to wash it eventually. But perhaps I gave it a kiss before I did.

lol, spoken like a true fanboy
I should come down to Houston! I’ll have to check my schedules.
lucky lucky Martin! I knew that you were going to get the invites

Glad you had fun! I just came home from school, so I’m juts about to get my taste of their new songs and performances. I feel kinda nervous and excited xD.I watched it this morning, and WG always perform well in live, that is why I like them so much.
I will watch it again tonight to see if I can find you.
Lucky, Yubin didn’t shake your hand, otherwise you would lose your mind. LOLS.
I am so happy for you to see WG so close.Actually I like the first new song more as well.
are these their new songs? ouch, stay together and wake up?
tl;dr. Lol. JK! I read it.
Ah! Sounds like you had an awesome time! So lucky being so close! And shaking Yenny’s hand! ^_^
I love Ouch!, but for some reason I can’t get over Wake Up, I’m just in love with it. And Stay Together is so awesome, and very special because Yenny wrote it. ^_^i think you were the one who wore orange shirt. a guess from your profile picture.

When I was in Korea and I visited music stores, I figured out how many artists tend to sell a lot of physical albums…
They offer various forms of the album that contain a certain amount of junk depending on the album edition, and if they’re really after fans’ money, they do something cunning like having 9 available character cards and putting only 2 or 3 in each album, so you’d have to buy more than one to try and ”catch ’em all”.
Other ways of getting a lot of money is by selling like 10 different posters, and a fan might feel the need to by them all…
They even sell things like fans, notebooks… I’m like, WTH is this all for? They’re basically giving them the materials to become a stalker or overly obsessed fan.
When I think of all these things, I sometimes wonder why Wonder Girls never jumped on the money yacht. I mean they’ve got the name to do it and could accomplish it very easily, but that’s not their goal apparently, and I’m pretty grateful that they don’t resort to such methods, otherwise I might be a poor Wonderful. That is why I like JYPE. Their hearts are on how to use music to win fans.
Well in idol group’s case, the CDs are not in the jewel cases any more. Guess it makes a difficult job for the record shops to display them.
I hate it personally (even in JYPE’s packagings), there’s no way I can put the CDs in the CD shelf, and no way to replace the case when the CD holding part (the middle teeth) breaks. Not at all practical really.
Of course, I kind of understand it. Otherwise no one would buy their physical albums in Korea these days.Is it a JYPE thing and not just a WGs thing ?
Still waiting for JYPE to release a DVD of WGs in concert or of JYP Nation in concert.Yea I think it’s a JYPE thing. Other companies had like 3 versions of an album, containing different things… And then the whole repackaged idea thing, that’s really annoying too.
good marketing yeah…to make fans to be a stupid …… lol

It’s such a great feeling to see how much the Wonder Girls have grown.
They went from being just some girl group who sang its company’s songs to jump off with, to a veteran group of mature, young women who help make their own music, have a hand in concept apparel and choreography, and still have the mind to now boast about it all and to stay humble.
That’s raw talent and character right there. Proud to be a Wonderful, and it doesn’t matter how much they sell… Money isn’t always success; but being recognized for good and uplifting music that can be enjoyed by various generations is.stylish88 : 1 year, 11 months ago
