US Relations

Ok, as I’ve mentioned before I am a member of wondergeneration, but I just read something on Soshified that got me upset. The members were talking about the possibility of SNSD breaking into the American market which I think is pretty far away, but that’s for another post. Anyways while talking about this they were describing the Wonder Girls and BOA as loising their identities and ultimately failing in the United States.
First off, I am an artist, a musician so I know how hard it is to break into this market. That’s speaking as an American! I can’t even imagine what it must be like for the girls to leave everything they’ve known and come to essentially a whole new world. They have learned a new language and are adapting to American culture. This means dealing with whole new fans with a completely different perspective and tastes.
Second, the girls have been here since around ’09 and in that time, not only have they made themselves fluent in English, but they have also toured with at that time the biggest boy group in America! They’ve also done covers for billboard and been on our talk shows.
My third and final point is regarding the complaint I hear the most and that is that the girls are no longer relevant in Korea. Really? Was it not the Wonder Girls all over game shows and having radio stations call into Sohee for her birthday, as well as having Sohee do a feature with 2pm. Wasn’t it also Korea that just made them ambassadors for Korean food?
So tell me Wonderfuls, does this sound like a failure to you?? I do believe the facts speak for themselves.
