After publishing the teaser on 6JUNE and I’m finally here to publish the whole story! I know it has been 2weeks…I’m soooo sorry as I was having exams and I need time to polish it a bit more…So yeah.
Anyways, it’s finally here!:D
[Background] As you might feel familiar with the content of it ‘cuz the story line is actually based on the TV movie ‘The Wonder Girls’. Some details are added and some are changed. Hope you’ll find it interesting to read and enjoy!:D

The sun brightly shined New York City in this peaceful morning. In this hectic city, the crowd is busy ‘Facebooking’ or ‘Tweeting’ with their smart phones on their way back to school or work for staying tune with the latest news. No exception for these 5 young Korean girls, they were uploading every shot of this gorgeous city on their way to the Apollo Theater.
The girl with blonde hair, Yenny, tied a pony tail while the full bangs was highlighted in light brown. The blue dotted blouse was matched with that pair of white shorts. She was busy eating that little bowl of ‘Kimchi’ which she bought on the way. She doesn’t care about her image and keep eating even she was actually on a train. It made up a contrast with the girl beside. She is Sun, who was in her causal look as she was simply wearing a long black dress with a denim coat for interspersion, simply sitting there chatting with his boyfriend, James.
Sohee, who was sitting besides Sun, couldn’t hide her sense of fashion at all. Her plain white T-shirt may seems boring, but the pair of sharp pink hot pants makes her the attention of the group. Yubin was just wearing a black short tube-top short dress and also a pair of golden high-cut trainers. Even though her outfit might be a bit monotonous, nothing special, she captures the public’s eyes by a wave of red hair. She seems to be the most attractive one. That looks extra eye-catching with a breeze. Sitting besides Yubin, Lim might had been being underrated, but don’t worry, her cuteness won’t be covered. That light sky-blue short mini-skirt shows off her young side with that pair of colorful sneakers. Yubin and Lim were practicing rapping while Sohee was listening to the song, ‘Monster’.
‘Whoa~ How beautiful it is!’ Lim exclaimed. ‘It has been about 100 years since it first opened to the public! It’s such a historic building!’ Sun explained, as she’s always the one who did research before. ‘Hey girls! Can you recognize this painting? It looks familiar…’ Yubin looked confused with that piece of work on the wall. ‘That’s ‘The Weeping Woman’ by Picasso!’ Sohee seems interested in Picasso’s works. ‘It’s the first time I can look into it in detail…’ Yenny was focusing on a poster on the other side while the others girls were exclaiming about the art works in the Theater.
‘Are you guys ready?’ She shouted loudly in a sudden. Others were surprised by her action. ‘This is an audition held by the famous entertainment company, JYPE! Don’t we all dream to be world-known singers? What if we won?’ Yenny asked her fellow girls with excitement. ‘But… we’re still students in the exchange program…’ Besides being the information-provider, Sun is also the most mature girl among all. ‘Why couldn’t we join for gaining experiences? That could be a memorable moment in this trip!’ Sohee looked extra energetic on this topic. Playful Yubin agreed to participate in it while the youngest, Lim, followed as she believes in their decision. Since it could be aimed as broadening their horizons, Sun has no reasons for opposing the decision. Because of their identities, they named themselves ‘Asian Invasion’. With the help from Lim’s boyfriend, Kennykulu, the 5 girls got a catchy song ‘Tell Me’. This is a cute song with a retro style hidden in it. Because of the remarkable dancing skills, Yubin became the chorographer of the song.
After practicing for two weeks, it came the time to perform on the real stage in the Theater.
‘The upcoming 5 young ladies come from Korea! They seem like coming here to beat up our beloved “School Gyrls” with their courage! Let’s give them a big hand!’ Welcomed by the MC of tonight’s show. ‘Asian Invasion’ entered the stage with nervousness, but once the music stated, they seem refilled with energy. They started off confidently by dancing in a breathtaking way while wearing colorful yet causal outfits. With the help of the repeating chorus, they received screams and shouts from the audience. The special dance break by Yubin at the end even boosted the atmosphere to the highest spot. The screams and shouts they received seems breaking the whole theatre.
‘Yubin, you’re truly the “Dancing queen”! That part of Hip Hop solo drives the listeners crazy!’ Complemented by Yenny. ‘Thanks, haha. Let’s bring a better performance for them next time!’ Yubin replied. ‘Fo shizzle!’ The other girls answered.
Afterwards, American surfed the ‘Tell Me’ wave as everyone was amazed by these 5 Asian girls. The song could be heard at every single corner in the city, despite the ages of the listener. No matter he or she is a little boy, a youngster, a mum of 3 or even a middle-ager who worked in a bar, it was well-known.
After another two week long practice, ‘Asian Invasion’ once again brought Kennykulu’s new song for their performance. For a continuation of the adorable style, the girls performed the song ‘Be My Baby’ for this time’s performance. ‘Please Be My Baby~ Please Be My Baby~ No I don’t wanna wonder anymore boy~ I gotta here say the words say the words~ Whoo~’ Yenny melted the audience by her likeable voice along with the ‘baby-holding’ dance move. No doubt, that was definitely Yubin, the choreographer’s idea. It brought the song into another level that the viewers could follow the moves easily. The city is flooded with ‘baby-holding’ dance move this time after the wave of ‘Tell Me’.
Thank to the huge success of ‘Be My Baby’, ‘Asian Invasion’ has won a seat for the finals. They got a month time for resting as well as practicing for the last round.
As for the celebration of their remarkable result, they entered to a club for fun. To their unluckiness, they met their competitor in the audition, the ‘School Gyrls’. ‘Uh ha, you’re the “Asian Invasion’ right? Please be my baby~ So you’re begging the boy to love you? ha That’s just humorous,’ teased the leader of that girl group, Jessie. ‘Please respect others. We’re completing fairly.’ Sun replied with manner. ‘We’re respecting you, aren’t we?’ That impolite girl mocked. ‘As this is our territory, we won’t allow any others to destroy it. Watch your steps, little kids!’ ‘What!?’ Lim wanted to talk back as her saw her dear sister, Sun, being annoyed rudely, but her anger was held back by Sohee and Kennykulu. ‘This kind of people doesn’t deserve your anger. We don’t even need to care about them,’ kennykulu whispered to her with a smile. Lim showed back a smile and pulled them all aside of the dancing pool to enjoy.
‘Cuz the DJ is mine~ And girl you’re wasting your time~ He only rocks to my music~ He loves the way I do it all night~ The DJ is mine!’ No sooner has the song ‘The DJ Is Mine’ started than the School Gyrls entered the pool to dance to it. Their smooth moves impressed the girls, but on the other hand, it boosted their morale to perform a more well-prepared stage for the final.
At the moment, Yenny seemed thinking deeply of something. ‘Hey Kennykulu! Could you please tell me how to compose songs? Or may you offer some help for me on it?’ Yenny’s sudden action gave Kennykulu a shock. ‘Of course, but why are you interested in it?’ The boy was curious about Yenny’s sudden request. ‘I got inspired by the feeling hanging out here. It would be great to compose an upbeat song for tonight.’ Yenny answered. ‘Oh I see. Shall we start now then?’ Kennykulu asked. ‘Fo shizzle!’ Yenny’s expression at that moment was like a kid getting a sweet.
With Kennykulu’s help, Yenny finished composing the song quickly. Sun was in charge of the lyrics while Lim wrote the lyrics of the rap. Sohee, the fashionlist, went to a boutique for picking clothes for the performance of this song. The choreography, for sure, was managed by the dancing queen.
‘Here it comes the final! Are you excited about it?’ The audience replied the MC with l0ud chants. ‘Alright! Let’s welcome the “Asian Invasion”!’ The girls went on stage in a sea of support in captivating outfits. Sun attracted people’s eyes at first by her new fresh short hair cut. She expressed a more powerful look with the new hair style along with an outlook in dark red. Sohee was confirmed as the most stylish one in a tarot-patterned one piece which is hard to carry on. Though Yubin and Lim were both wearing black dresses, they show off their charm in opposing ways. Lim looked more mature this time while Yubin looked superb when it matches with her red-colored hair. By changing into an innovative all-back hairstyle, a different kind of charm was added on Yenny. The checked blue short dress which matches with a pair of words-patterned leggings in the color of pearl burgundy looks fabulous on her.
‘G! N! O! Girls Night Out~ We gonna Burn this house tonight~ Cuz we just came to dance~ We dance~ We dance like there was nobody there~ We dance~ Let’s dance~’ The girls turned the theater into a night club by the song ‘G.N.O.’. Without any sexy moves, but with interactive communication with the audience, they make the theater even hotter. ‘Come On!’ The audience followed the dance moves along with the mood-maker Sun’s shout. They were like dancing and enjoying in a club just like what they did a few days before.
‘Thank you “Asian Invasion” for their incredible performance! Here it comes the School Gyrls coming back with a new song ‘So Hot’!’ They started off with sexy dance moves. ‘I’m so hot! I can’t hide it but~ I’m so fine! I just can’t help it baby~ I’m so cool! Somebody help me~ I’m so so so hot hot!’ Though it seems attractive in School Gyrls’ eyes, but not in the audience’s eyes. The girls are seemed as showing off their bodies in disgusting outfits. That turned the audience off. The audience wasn’t selfish to pour out their catcalls towards the girls. At the end, the girls went off the stage with pissed-off expressions.
In this situation, no doubt, ‘Asian Invasion’ won the Champion and got a chance to become trainees in JYPE. However, an unexpected speech came out from Sun’s mouth. ‘I’m sorry, but we’re actually students from Korea coming here for an exchange program.’ The fact disappointed everyone in the theater. ‘Thank you for giving us such unforgettable memories and precious experiences. Sorry that we didn’t live up to your expectations. We aren’t pleased to do so but we do have to leave now. Thank you once again for keep supporting us.’ The girls bowed 90-dregeed to express their regret and gratefulness. Hardly had they went back backstage when a staff of JYPE came out to announce. ‘Actually we’ve contacted you all’s parents and also your school principle, none of them gave a stop to your road towards our company. It’s actually our honor to have such skillful young ladies joining our company.’ He bowed to the girls as they bowed back with tears.
After two weeks of reunion with their families in Korea, the girls came back to the States again to start off their life of training in JYPE. ‘It still feels like a dream that we’re here to be trainees!’ Sohee was moved. ‘Yeah… I can’t believe what we’re doing right now!’ Lim holds the manager, Kennykulu’s hand more tightly. ‘But that’s the power of dreams, isn’t it?’ Yenny smiled widely towards the girls. ‘Yup!’ They answered unanimously and loudly. ‘ … It’s our first day to be trained in JYPE. Everything seems new to us, we’re still like babies who are exploring the world. We have been studying aimlessly for years, but now we’re here in the America working for our dreams! It just happened! Just like what Yenny said, it’s the power of dreams right? Fighting!’ Sun prayed for the group after writing the dairy.
After years of trainees’ lives, the 5 girls got the opportunity to make a debut. They’re not ‘Asian Invasion’ anymore, but the ‘Wonder Girls’ who comes and spreads the Wonder! Sun becomes the leader of the group to lead the girls while Yenny is still the food queen. Of course, Yenny does have a role to play, that’s main vocal. Sohee becomes the vice vocal with her soft voice. About Lim and Yubin, they’re both rappers who are also in charge of the choreography. They’re coming back with a brand new mini-album ‘Wonder Party’!
