Don’t be a sponge!

8:21 pm in Daniel Rogers

Hey ya’ll!
I was in chapel this morning and our speaker was a fellow from a huge church in this area and he spoke a very eloquent, well delivered message. The only problem was he was waaaay off base! To the person who wasn’t listening closely they could easily have been pulled astray.

Teachers are the same way. Their podium is like their pulpit and most students just assume that what they are hearing is truth. DON”T DO THAT! Do some research and be ready to call the professor or teacher out when they are off point. Do not be a sponge just soaking everything in. Rather do some digging and double checking.

Scripture says something similar. In Acts 17 Paul visits a city of Berea and he says they were of a noble standard because they searched the scriptures daily trying to know more. They were searching and digging to see whether what was said was truth and we should be doing the same!
