The boys did well on the comeback show. The ghastliness from their make up and costume was cool, but the chosen theme somehow reminds me of Rain’s Rainism as well.
I like the idea where other members had a different tune for their own individual introduction before it goes into the main song Heartbeat with Taecyeon. Junho’s act was nice, however, the spring onion hairdo was a shocker!!! His last stance was like a ‘W’, is it for Wondergirls?!!! Chansung’s act was full of rage though!!! ARGH! lol… Junsu’s act was slick & smooth but didn’t like the end pose because it made him looked a bit feminine. Woo Young did good in his bit, but it was too short and it undermined what he’s really capable of. Finally, Nick, sorry to say this but that was way too short to leave any impression at all!!! I guess time was running out…
Overall performance was good because their synchronized movement was in beat with the song and the puppet (which is a lifeless animated object) + zombie dance suits the theme well. I wonder by any chance if that was inspired by MJ’s Thriller? Since Mr Park does like MJ… There are bits from that dance which seems to be extracted from their previous hit ‘Again&Again’.
The coup de grace of this dance would def. be (1) the back & forth running movement and then (2) zig zagging their way to back to the designated position in order to do the stunt that resembles a pyramid. Also, Junho sliding through the boys was impressive. In the live performance, the only flaw that I can point out was the last stunt where Junsu falls back onto the floor… In the official MV, it appears that he had more speed and power?
At the end of it all, it’s nice to see 2PM back on the stage.
I hope someday in the future that Jay would consider rejoining the group because his dancing ability does have an edge over others (who were also good dancers and improving). He often gives out the verve required for a stronger impact that was needed to impress the viewers. It really symbolizes what was needed from a leader of a group. Also, the odd number formation works out better if you like patterns that have a center point or nucleus. However, with the current formation, the group should pay attention to symmetric movements that may work out better for the time being.
